SAFETY FIRST

Garage Door Repairs

Garage doors often require a variety of repairs, from replacing cables to handles.
There are lots of original and pattern parts available.

Self-Repairs

We only recommend repairs to be carried out by a professional, as non-professionals can risk injury to themselves. Self-repairs can also worsen the damage to your garage door, making it a financial risk also. Please contact your local Garage Door Guild member for friendly and professional advice and repair.

Wear & Tear

Sometimes, the parts on a door can be so heavily worn to a point that it would no longer be economical to repair. In these events, the door may need to be replaced. If the panel of the door can be saved, there is an option to undertake a gear conversion, whereby all the parts of the lifting mechanism are changed. These photos demonstrate how.

Vehicle Damage

If a garage door has suffered impact damage from a vehicle, generally, the door would be considered beyond repair. This is not always the case, so it’s worth seeking advice from your local garage door installer before Impact damage can also affect the lifting mechanism of the door, as you can see in these images.
